The Outdoor Club Outdoor Play Leader

Do you enjoy being outside, working with children and families and enjoy making a good hot chocolate? If so, we would love to hear from you!

The Outdoor Club CIC is a community-based, not-for-profit organization, dedicated to getting families and individuals into the outdoors. We want all of our community to enjoy time in the fresh air, meet others, all whilst helping to improve physical and mental health too.

What are we looking for? We’d love someone who enjoys being outside, who enjoys interacting with others and has a desire to get involved. 

 Key Responsibilities

Sessional

  • Plan sessions, organize resources, manage risks on a daily basis

  • Set up & clear away sessions independently

  • Get involved in playing in the mud kitchen, create some crafts and interact with parents

  • Make our delicious hot chocolate, other hot drinks too

  • Prepare and distribute snacks and biscuits

  • Chat to parents, grandparents

  • Interact with social media

  • Manage kit and resources

  • Work collaboratively with The Outdoor Club team and volunteers

  • Undertake training and CPD relevant to the role

  • Help fulfil the objectives of the CIC. 

Occasional duties throughout the year

  • Kit maintenance, cleaning and inventory

  • Seasonal development of resources (especially for winter months)

  • Office admin

What can we offer you?

We hava a passion for helping others and that includes our team too. We will support you in essential training, CPD and developing your skills and interests. We are a friendly, supportive team.

Hours: Guaranteed 8 hours per week, Wednesday 8:30-12noon, Thursday 8:30-12noon (Essential) with the view to increase, term time only. Optional additional ad-hoc work some afternoons, evenings and during school holidays. The ability to grow the role with more sessions, if desired.

Salary: £9.50-10.50 per hour. Holiday pay and expenses are paid in addition to this.

Contract: Part-Time, permanent

Location: Long Buckby and surrounding villages.

Ideal Start Date: Week Commencing April 18th 2022
